City of Westwood Hills

Westwood Hills is a historic gem with one hundred and seventy-five homes and approximately 400 citizens that live in the community. In 2013, Westwood Hills was declared a National Historic District in its entirety. It has also been called “The Most Beautiful Little City in Kansas.” With a variety of architectural styled homes, stone bridges, and scenic views, Westwood Hills is a stunning place to call home.

Things To Do

If you and your family enjoy the great outdoors, make your way to the Joe D. Dennis Park or Westwood Park. Both parks have great walking trails and activities for the kids. If you enjoy the arts, there are many options in the area to explore several art galleries. You can also take a short drive to the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art.

The Shops of Westwood Hills have some great options for the family. The Little Flower Shop is the place for gorgeous flowers and gifts that everyone can enjoy. Asiatica Kansas City is a high-end retail store with one-of-a-kind garments and accessories that are sure to set you apart.

If you have a sweet tooth, be sure to check out Annedore’s Fine Chocolates. Their hand-made chocolates have been delighting Kansas City residents for over 25 years. Make sure you try one of their famous European style truffles and barks. The Hi-Hat Coffee Shop is a great place to catch up with neighbors while enjoying a great cup of Joe.


Westwood Hills is located within the Shawnee Mission School District lines. Currently, residents would attend Westwood View Elementary School, Indian Hills Middle School, or Shawnee Mission East High School.
