Roeland Park is best known for being named a “Tree City USA Community” in honor of its commitment to urban forest management by the Arbor Day Foundation. This is the 20th year Roeland Park has received this national recognition. The City of Roeland Park is a part of Johnson County and has approximately 7,000 citizens and is about 1.6 square miles. Roeland Park is known for being a great community for new families both young and old.

With 18 acres of parks, Roeland Park is a small community with great opportunities for recreation. Roeland Park is just minutes away from the Country Club Plaza, the Power and Light District, and Crown Center. Home to the Kansas City Blazers Swim Team, the Roeland Park Aquatic Center is open year-round and offers several different activities for families throughout the year.

Roeland Park has a lot of great options nearby for home improvements and grocery shopping. If you are looking for clothing stores, be sure to check out Oak Park Mall located in Overland Park, Kansas. Here you can find some great big box stores like Macys, Nordstrom’s, and Dillard’s. There is also a Build-A-Bear and an American Girl Doll store which your children will love.

There are many chain restaurants and drive-thru’s in the area. If you prefer something a bit more local, check out Longboards Wraps and Bowls.
